OPTIMIZATION OF NURSE ROSTERS IN A HOSPITAL UNIT

Abstract

 

The present work reports on the application of a mixed integer linear programming model to nurse rostering in the real context of a hospital unit in Portugal. The comparison of the results obtained with those obtained with the current procedure in the unit shows that this is a promising approach to tackle the problem in this context.
